This dream is now called BossPiano. The story behind our website is the following: As a group of enthusiasts, in love with the piano notes, we started as amateurs searching for new songs to play. Not finding a friendly website to list all of our beloved songs' scores, we thought about selecting the material that we found and share it with others. The idea for BossPiano. Now, thanks to our users that constantly give us feedback, sheet music, and request songs, we are highly active and aim to help everyone in evolving into a better and better piano player.

I have piano playing friends with diverse musical backgrounds. Some of my friends do not know how to play one note of sheet music and have relied entirely on their well developed ability to play by ear.

To have a good ear is a great asset but not being able to read sheet music or at least be able to read lead sheets with chords can make things unnecessary complicated when confronted with the task of playing other peoples music. Let us take a look at a music composing scenario! Suppose you have an assignment to write the music to a musical. The musicians involved do not know how to read sheet music and consequently they have to learn the songs by listening to recordings or by listening to your instructions.

It will surely take some time to get things right! On the piano note chart I have included Middle C. If you can find C on the piano then you should be able to label all of the other notes. If you sit at your piano keyboard and find the two black notes that are together and move to the white note that is to the left of them you have found middle C. If you look up and down the piano keys and find the two black notes together and move one note to the left you will always be on a C.

This is helpful because all of the notes on the piano keyboard repeat over and over again. Look at piano keyboard diagram that we have included and you will notice how C repeats itself. Knowing where middle C is important because this is generally where the notes split between staves. Middle C can be played with the right hand or the left hand, it depends where the note falls on the staff.

If it is on the treble clef then you play it with the right hand, if it is on the bass clef then you play it with the left hand.
