Raw file converter fuji x10
If I have over exposed the photo to much my error to begin with the camera X10 I'm using only gives you -1 EV, and the result can look like I was doing it to a jpeg in stead of a raw. Anyways, just wondering what your settings would be if you have used it. I reviewed the camera and published a number of articles detailing my thoughts.
You can find them here, just click on Fuji X As for my settings, after working with the camera for a number of weeks, I saw nothing to convince me that the settings should be any different from my standard settings for EXR cameras. I don't like the JPEG engine because you have the choice between really soft and sharpening halos.
There is no in between. Plus, it never gets the tones just right in my opinion. And CVapture One seems less noisy but does nothing with lens aberration. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are. I have not encountered that difficulty yet. Sure - at the moment I am travelling without my camera or home computer. It'll be a week or so. But the case I have in mind was a test shot of a page of a book, when it was impossible to reproduce from RAW a line of type with the same clarity, contrast and cleanness that the camera managed in its own JPEG conversion.
Mind you, even the jpeg had some artefacts, but it was a lot better and quite acceptable, in my view. I couldn't get the same result from RAW with LR3, and the jpeg was susceptible to detail sharpening to a degree which would have rendered the RAW shot completely unacceptable.
I have noticed a similar issue with some other shots showing distant, detailed foliage. Have you tried sharpening detail in the RAW shot? The Adobe plugin certainly opens the file - it's what it does with it afterwards that I am not confident about. In Lightroom very high Sharpening "Amount" must only be combined with very low "Detail" settings max.
With "Detail" at 0 you can crank "Amount" all up to maximum without creating extra noise that wasn't there before. If you want to use high "Detail" values you need to use very low "Amount", else you get too much noise.
Any combination in between can be used, too, but again "Detail" tends to pull out distinct reticulation and extra noise when combined with too much "Amount". I'd try to get away with "Amount" first and only if you are not satisfied, pull down "Amount" and try "Detail" instead. Silkypix is for me the best raw software actually, i have the X-S1 and Adobe camera raw 6. I don't know if I have missed something as I've been out of the loop for a short time but wasn't it brought to light a few weeks ago that other raw processors apart from Silkypix couldn't correctly process raf files.
I also seemed to remember that only Silkypix should be used as it was the only one with the special exr conversion code written in to its protocols? We dig into the detail The Nikon Z mm F2. The EXR sensor can do a lot of things with the available pixels in the sensor and that is why their RAW files are a little odd compared to those of say the X-Pro1 or which use the X-Trans sensors.
You'll potentially have a RAW image that contains the pairs of pixels, and a lot of RAW software doesn't expect there to be a 12mp sensor with a 6mp image, twice. In-camera RAW conversion to JPEG will do the binning of those pixels properly and always get great results though believe me, I can understand not wanting to sit around with your camera in your lap for an hour doing trial and error conversions on a 2" LCD.
Fuji doesn't publish the format on these to my knowledge, which is why there isn't native support for the X10's RAW in Aperture. Ultimately if FOSS compatibility and capability for RAW is really important to you, the X10 isn't going to make it easy for you or even mildly annoying ; there are better purchases within those constraints. I knew that I'd have some rough ground to cover before I purchased it, but after using the X-Pro1 for a while and having it outside of my budget I couldn't see myself liking anything else more.
The JEPGs out of the camera are arguably better though, which is further evidence that the RAW-to-X software out there other than the bundled SilkyPix may not always handle the binned data correctly.
Or I'm really bad at processing images very likely! IMO, Fuji's quality control is outstanding, the X series are built in Japan and use excellent components. The 'White Orbs Problem' has never affected more than 1 out of 10, photos I've taken and if I sent in a camera for repair and it came back with dust in the lens I'd just send it back.
It isn't like Fuji engineers are doing the labor on that. Fuji X10 is supported by dcraw. Maybe UFRaw will support that one too, thought it does not contain the camera on supported cameras list. UFRaw uses dcraw as its backend. BTW, if you haven't bought it yet, be sure that the one you buy do not have the White Orbs issue. The only way to be sure is to take picture of intense reflections or direct light.
I just got mine back from Fujifilm. The White Orbs is fixed, but now I have dust in the lenses. Fujifilm quality control is unacceptable You are better buy one that already works and hope that it will never break.
The quality of the raw is not that great at lease that's what DPreview said, I'm not with raw so I can not really tell. The current unstable version of darktable includes full support for this camera and many others including most or all modern Fujis.
An Ubuntu PPA that includes this support is available at:. The normal disclaimers about unstable software apply. The next darktable stable release will include this support. The RAW files have been supported for a long time. Sample photos I've found convert well. I don't have your exact model to try with, but for anyone looking for an answer to this, you should try it.
Darktable also has support in an experimental branch 1. Have you tried Lightzone? I have a Fuji XE1 and Lightzone works perfectly.
Have you tried RawTherapee? I'm not a photography expert, but it seems to work well for me on Windows. I see they have linux downloads. Sign up to join this community.
