Anyway, I will try, and let you folks know. Doodzorio Standard Member. In the hopes that this might be helpful to anyone who is having issues with this, I'd like to confirm that this is possible to do with a PS3 and the RX-V I spent about 2 hours trying to figure it out.

I've tried both the PS3 and then the foobar asio method. However, I was able to finish the upgrade process with a PS3.

Nothing fancy here, I did "burn the current compliation to disk" option and used the maximum speed that my Plextor would go, it wound up hitting about 28x before being finished. Plug in PS3 using an optical cable to the receiver per the instructions. Set Bitmapping to "off". Set "dynamic normalizer" to "off". I kept Crossfade Playback at 3 seconds, this does not seem to be important.

Insert the CD and exit out of auto play if you have that going on and go to music and select your cd so it's ready to play Have your PS3 turned on and ready to play and continue with the upgrade instructions from the manual starting with STEP4. I was able to successfully upgrade the firmware with these steps. This process was a bit frustrating, so best of luck!
